Just got my 770. Best "PDA" I've used to date for web browsing. Given that the 2006 software is beta software, do you still reccomend updating? I'm torn between waiting for a final release and doing it now while the machine is new and I don't have to back anything up. What are the disadvantages to upgrading right now?

That's perfectly fine, but you're looking at the 770 as if it's designed as a Palm competitor. They're working on a portable communication and browsing device, and this new firmware does that far better than any Palm or Zaurus I have used yet (and I've used my fair share of PDAs). This isn't a PDA, and that's what I think a lot of people are having trouble remembering.

The idea isn't to get one or the other. Get what you like. I'd recommend both ;)

Well honestly. No matter how many bells and whistles you give that device. I plan going with a Palm T|X soon again. The 770 is just a playtoy that I can not really use to sync my lotus notes stuff with, that i can use to sync other stuff from work such as sharepoint and other things. I just want a device that does the stuff it has to do and that's the Palm T|X.
